Toiling away behind the peninsula's winery backdrop is a growing crop of artisanal brewers, taking advantage of the perfect growing conditions like the vintners and farmers before them.

Mornington Peninsula Brewery, Red Hill Brewery and St Andrews Beach Brewery are leading the charge, with Hickinbotham of Dromana winery also serving up a house beer. The breweries' regularly changing specialty brews and refreshing ales, matched with no-nonsense favourites like woodfired pizza, offer welcome respite from the world of wine.

In Red Hill, Bass and Flinders Distillery is the Mornington Peninsula's only bespoke distillery and cellar door, producing a range of gins, vodka, limoncello and brandy. Visit the cellar door bar for a tasting, or take part a gin masterclass to create your very own bespoke gin.
