The Sea Sherpa North Shore Challenge, Victoria's premier offshore kayak fishing competition, is back for another year after a successful debut in 2017.
The Sea Sherpa North Shore Challenge, Victoria's premier offshore kayak fishing competition, is back for another year after a successful debut in 2017. With a cracking kingfish season down the coast this year and plenty of reports of tuna mixed with kingfish schools, Portland’s North Shore will be the venue. The competition will be on Australia Day, 26 January 2018 at Henty Bay Beachfront Park which provides convenient ramp access to North Shore. With Australia Day falling on a Friday, this means most entrants will enjoy three days of fishing, weather permitting. With over $7,000 of prizes and giveaways on offer this year, this competition is a major offshore kayak fishing event on the calendar, drawing punters from South Australia, Victoria and up north. Come along and enjoy the social aspects of the competition, getting to know like minded kayak fishers and attending the prize ceremony and barbecue. Last year's event was a sell-out and accommodation will be busy over the Australia Day weekend, so plan ahead.
Entry cost ($): $50.00 - $70.00
