Flop House was established in 2013 to welcome visitors to the Macedon Ranges and central Victorian goldfields region with an offering of good design and access to local produce. Inspired by our surrounds, the Flop House provides guests with guides, bikes to tour the town, locally made preserves and discounts for participating in local workshops.

Inspired by our surrounds, the Flop House provides guests with guides, bikes to tour the town, locally made preserves and discounts for participating in local workshops.With a love for good linen, textiles and chic Scandinavian design Flop House ensures that each Flop House breathes an air of simply luxury and refined living. This is extended to the boutique store on Piper Street, upstairs, selling European vintage furniture sourced by friends at Grandfather’s Axe, tried and true Pendleton Woollen Mills blankets and locally made Salus Body products. From humble beginnings with a single guesthouse, Harpsichord House, Flop House now manages a guest house in Maldon and six guesthouses in Kyneton and Lauriston sleeping a total of 30 guests.

The River House promises a new level of luxury for the Macedon Ranges. Located in Lauriston, five minutes from Kyneton, twenty minutes from Daylesford and just over an hour from Melbourne. River House is a beautifully appointed modern house on two acres with private river frontage and bushland hills behind.
A series of glass pavilions and beautifully landscaped gardens created by Frogmore Nursery in Blackwood make for the perfect place for rest and contemplation. The infinity pool, butterfly chairs and tennis court add to it feeling like a pampered resort or wellness retreat. The house is perfect for a couple wanting to live like the Jones’ for a weekend or can be easily shared with up to six people (yet still feel very, very spacious).
No aspect of guest comforts has been overlooked, from the quality of the bedding and bathrobes to the supply of Salus bath salts and Larson and Thomson teas.
Flop House provides a range of 'in-house' services at River House. An exclusive dine in menu can be arranged through Daylesford based caterer, Daisy Dining. Daisy can stay and serve or exit discretely, leaving easy to follow preparation instructions.
